What is a honeypot in Security+?
D2 · Threats · CompTIA Security+ SY0-701A honeypot is a decoy system intentionally designed to look like a vulnerable target. It attracts attackers, lets defenders observe their techniques, and generates alerts when accessed (since no legitimate traffic should ever touch it).

Any connection to a honeypot is suspicious by definition. Honeypots are a deception technology — they don't prevent attacks but help detect and study them.
